Select-O-Vend Candy Machine
From my personal collection comes this
very nice Select-O-Vend penny candy machine. Made in the late 40s to 50s, it was designed to vend tab gum or
chocolate. You turn the knob on the left to rotate one of eight columns to the front of the machine, insert
your penny and pull the knob on the right to get your selection. Many of these machines are less desirable to
collectors because there is nothing made today that will fit it them, but Andes mints happen to fit in the
Select-O-Vend perfectly and come in various flavors for the different columns (no mints included with the
machine). Also has a nice original decal on the front glass for the Optimist Club of Duluth (Minnesota). One of
the column weights is missing but still works okay without it or that column can be left empty. The machine was
totally dismantled and repainted. The mechanism and insides were also totally dismantled and cleaned. Includes
new rubber feet, one new piece of glass that matches the other two original ones, a new set of decals and a new lock.
Measures approximately 18" tall, 8" wide and 8" deep.
